Women Aware’s Director of Client Services, Maliha Janjua, discusses Women Aware’s services on Magic 98.3 Community Outreach podcast with Racquel Williams. The Community Outreach podcast is a new public affairs program which airs on Sunday mornings from 7-8 am on Magic 98.3. It’s hosted by Beasley Media New Jersey News Director and Morning Anchor Racquel Williams. Central Jersey is rich with unsung heroes, and the focus of Community Outreach is to shine the spotlight on organizations, groups and individuals in Central Jersey that do positive work in and around the community. New Brunswick Education Association Supports Survivors

The New Brunswick Education Association (NBEA) President, LeShaun Arrington, and their P.R.I.D.E. Committee Chairperson, Sondra Stovall, presented Women Aware with a check on behalf of NBEA. Ms. Sondra Stovall shared that the Committee selected Women Aware for their donation because of the work they have seen us do with some of their very own students. The New Brunswick Education Association represents teachers and supports staff in the New Brunswick, NJ Public School District, and builds partnerships throughout the local community to support teachers and students.

Support from generous donors, like the New Brunswick Education Association, allows Women Aware to continue to provide life saving services to victims of domestic violence and their children. Thank you for helping survivors move beyond abuse.

Stop & Shop Community Bag Program Beneficiary

Women Aware has been selected as a beneficiary of the Stop & Shop Community Bag Program for the month of June. The Stop & Shop Community Bag Program, which launched in May 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities where shoppers live and work.

Women Aware was selected as the June beneficiary of the program by store leadership at the Stop & Shop located at 424 Raritan Avenue in Highland Park, NJ. Women Aware will receive a $1 donation every time the $2.50 reusable Community Bag is purchased at this location during the month of June, unless otherwise directed by the customer through the Giving Tag attached to the bag.

Women Aware is happy to announce that our Legal Advocacy department is now co-located at the New Jersey Prosecutor’s Office. Wells Fargo Donates $1,550 to Support Survivors

Wells Fargo presented a $1,550 check to Women Aware on Wednesday. Support from generous donors, like Wells Fargo, allows Women Aware to continue providing safety and services to all victims of domestic violence, including underserved, low-income, and minority families. Thank you for helping survivors move beyond abuse.

The Renee J. Bradley Foundation 2nd Annual Luncheon

The Renee J. Bradley Foundation for Domestic Violence 2nd Annual Scholarship Luncheon took place on Sunday, April 7, 2019. The luncheon was hosted by the Reverend Dr. Danielle L. Brown, Pastor of Church Life, Cathedral International. The keynote speaker was Phyllis Adams, MA, MSW the Chief Executive Officer of Women Aware. This event was created to raise awareness of domestic violence and to award Perth Amboy, NJ High School Seniors attending a 4-year university Scholarship opportunities.
