This job description is a broad outline of the responsibilities and duties of the Creative Arts
Therapist/Counselor and will be amended as needed to meet the program priorities of Women Aware (the
(“Agency”) and its ensuing work requirements. It should not be construed as a contract and does not
create a contract of employment. Employment with the Agency is at will.
Reports to: PALS Coordinator
Status: Non-Exempt
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in creative arts therapy (music, movement, drama, or art) required
• Registration and Board Certification, preferred
• DV experience, preferred
• Excellent crisis intervention skills required
• Bilingual-Spanish a plus
• Part-time, evenings availability required
• Driver’s license – clean and valid
• Lifting up to 25lbs
General Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Clinical Director, the Creative Arts Therapist is responsible for providing creative
arts therapy services to child witnesses of domestic violence, as well as support services to the nonoffending parent. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
• Provide a safe, non-judgmental, and empowering environment to clients.
• Provide individual and group creative arts therapy services for children, and support services for
their non-offending parent in accordance with accepted standards of care and ethics of the
profession.
• Work collaboratively with Agency staff and community agencies to facilitate the delivery of services.
Specific Duties:
• Responsible for ensuring that the following direct services are provided to non-residential clients:
intake appointments, individual and group creative arts therapy, adult support group, client
advocacy, support services including resources and referrals, and crisis intervention.
• Maintain case records for individual and group clients according to Agency documentation
policy/procedure, administer evaluations and assessments, complete safety and goal plans with
clients, and maintain other records, as needed.
• Maintain contact with clients on the waiting list and update accordingly.
• Maintain and submit daily log; timely and accurately input stats to the data spreadsheet.
• Assist with submission of statistical reports such as monthly program reports dv core statistics, and
PALS programmatic reports to the Clinical Director.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required, master’s preferred
• DV and group experience, preferred
• Excellent crisis intervention and case management skills required
• Bilingual-Spanish required
• Full time, M-Th, evenings
• Driver’s license – clean and valid
• Lifting up to 25 lbs.

In collaboration with the PALS Coordinator, it carries the responsibility for providing case management services to
adult victims of domestic violence. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
• Provide a safe, non-judgmental, and empowering environment for clients and staff.
• Provide individual case management and group counseling services in accordance with accepted standards of
care and ethics of the profession.
• Work collaboratively with Agency staff and community agencies to facilitate the delivery of services.
Specific Duties:
• Responsible for ensuring the following direct services are provided to non-residential clients: hotline calls,
intake appointments, individual weekly case management for PALS adults, group counseling, client advocacy,
crisis intervention, resources and referrals.
• Manage childcare program following PALS curriculum as appropriate.
• Maintain case records for individual and group clients according to Agency documentation policy/procedure,
administer evaluations and assessments, complete safety and goal plans with clients, and maintain other
records as needed.
• Maintain contact with clients on the waiting list and update accordingly. Manage client database and hotline
call log.
• Timely and accurately input statistics into the appropriate spreadsheets.
• Assist with submitting reports such as monthly program report, FVPSA, DV core stats, and PALS programmatic
report to the PALS Coordinator.
• Other duties as assigned

Per Diem Caseworkers needed to provide case management and crisis intervention services to victims of domestic violence in a residential facility on a per diem basis. Availability to work holidays, weekends (mornings or evenings) and overnight shifts. Bachelor’s degree preferred, domestic violence experience and proficient in Spanish a plus.

Job responsibilities include:

• Answering the 24-hour domestic violence hotline.
• Orienting residents to communal living in our residential facility.
• Providing ongoing information and advocacy to assigned clients during their stay.
• Supporting residents in achieving their goals in accordance with program guidelines and agency policy.
• Providing client transportation on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications:
• BA in Social Work Preferred
• Minimum of 4 years DV experience
• Bilingual Spanish Preferred
• Good communication skills, ability to work independently and with people of diverse
backgrounds
• Knowledge of community providers and resources
• Legal Advocacy experience a plus
• Must be flexible, able to travel, have a dependable car

General Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Clinical Director, this position carries the responsibility of bridging services between Women
Aware, Inc. and Middlesex County DCP&P. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
• To strengthen and assist DCP&P caseworkers with DV assessments to identify abuse and intervention for
victims of domestic violence and their children.
• Identify and bring to the attention of the supervisor, patterns of investigative practice that may raise
concerns or issues that need policy or practice adjustment.
• Provide information about trends and best practices related to domestic violence.
• Provide a safe, non-judgmental, and empowering environment to victims of domestic violence in
accordance with accepted standards of care and ethics of the profession.
Specific Duties
• Partner with DCP&P case workers on site and on home visits, or elsewhere, when appropriate.
• Provide direct short-term support for clients, with a greater focus on the assessment of lethality cases, to
assist them in understanding domestic violence and its impact.
• Provide case consultation to DCP&P caseworkers regarding dynamics of domestic violence,
recommendations for additional services such as emergency shelter, housing, legal information/options,
counseling, and BIP.
• Identify and make provisions for DCP&P trainings/development opportunities.
• Maintain monthly statistical reports; complete and submit stats accurately and timely.
• Maintain appropriate client files and open client cases when applicable, keeping charts orderly and up to
date.
