Destacado del personal – Conoce a Lea

Leah is a Domestic Violence Resource Advocate in Women Aware’s emergency shelter. She is inspired by many people in her life, but feels a special connection to her grandfather Jack and his mother Leah (her namesake). Leah is moved by their persistence to keep going and do what is right despite living incredibly hard lives and facing barriers along the way. Boston, MA is her favorite place and she would like to make it her home one day. In the meantime, there are many places on Leah’s “To Visit” bucket list. Next up? Oregon. The best meal she’s ever eaten is West African Peanut Soup, y el último libro que leyó fue Rule of Wolves, the latest instalment in Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse series. It may surprise you to learn that Leah has her sights set on trading places with a chicken farmer: “having pet chickens is ‘the dream.’” Her secret talent is naming all the presidents from Cleveland to Biden. Leah is most passionate about assisting interpersonal violence and trauma survivors in their healing journey. It is this type of work that propelled her to pursue a degree in social work. “The clients we service are all such cool, kind and interesting people. Whenever we are able to help a family or a survivor get out of a dangerous situation to a place of security and safety, it’s a feeling like no other.”
